Unbuckling The Bible Belt is now on Patreon

I debated whether I should start a Patreon page, as I thought it might be rather pretentious that people might actually want to pay for what we are doing, but I thought there could be no harm in trying! Honestly, I am working two jobs currently, and anything above what I make now would help a great deal, whatever the amount may be. Also, if reach my milestone of $300 an episode (which I don’t really have any expectation of reaching. Surely no one would give us THAT kind of money!), I could quit my second job and put out an extra episode per month. So, if you’re feeling generous, or even if you’re feeling sorry for us, pledge to the show. Anything our fans could give would mean a lot to us.

This is the link to our Patreon page. Again, anything you could give, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated.

UTBB Episode 13 : Neither Snow Nor Rain…

It’s a solo effort this week, as a Southern Snow/Icepocalypse added to hectic schedules conspired to make it impossible for the intrepid heathens to synchronize, so apologies to those who only tune in for Joe’s dulcet tones; hopefully Seethin’s decidedly less velvety tones will do for this week. On tap: The Denmark shootings and what we know as of now; Tennessee once again tries to sneak Christianity into the State Constitution; Georgia teachers thinks forcing kids to pray is just fine; 50 Shades in a hit in a hilariously ironic locale; A pediatrician won’t see a baby because of its parents; and Foundation Beyond Belief shows atheists have a heart without the threat of eternal damnation to motivate them. Sometimes going solo feels better! Enjoy!

UTBB Episode 12 : No Insurance For You!

We keep you guessing with the release schedule here at UTBB, and this is no exception, as this is being released on a Thursday! Who doesn’t like surprises? This week, we start off with the tragic story of the Chapel Hill shootings and its relation to atheism (nothing, we contend); Tennessee decides it wants to try to succeed where Mississippi failed; A prayer for no insurance for poor people in Tennessee; We see Alabama once again trying to stand in the way of progress, which it partially succeeds at, for now; Obama tells the truth about religions, and Republicans shockingly are appalled; and Virginia may be for lovers, but apparently not when they’re non-believers. Keep away those winter blues and listen to the latest UTBB podcast!

UTBB Epidsode 11 : The Library Edition

We went to a library study room to put this week’s episode together, and it shows. But it also goes to show the lengths we will go to bring you an episode. That’s a positive thing, right? This week, Seethin reads a letter, plugs a podcast, and makes the case for charity and doing good deeds in an atheist/secular context; We discover that Bryan Fischer is out, but not really, at the American Family Association; We find that Alabama repeats history and wants to defy Federal law; A more inclusive Veteran’s monument is given the green light in North Carolina; Judaism is not exempt from crazy fundy types; and how atheism could bring peace on Earth! It may not sound great this week, but this episode in nothing if not uplifting!
